I’m a self-taught cook, gardener, DIY-er, blogger, and photography enthusiast who sees the kitchen and garden as one continuous space. My cooking and baking reflect that with an abundance of fresh, seasonal ingredients from the local farms and farmers markets in my area as well as my backyard garden.
I was born and raised in suburban Los Angeles (Santa Monica and Mar Vista, respectively) and I now reside a little further up the coast in Camarillo, California. I’ve been married to my husband for almost 20 years. We met while racing outrigger canoes in a club in Marina del Rey. He’s a fire department captain now and our biggest collaborative project to date has been the raising of our two children (ages 13 and 11 currently).
We’re an active family that shares a collective appreciation for hiking and exploring our local mountain trails and those of the Sierra Nevada Mountains with vacations and downtime spent at Mammoth Lakes and Lake Tahoe. You’ll see pictures from those adventures (and others) scattered throughout L&L and on my Instagram.
You can contact me via email at lemons.lavender[at]gmail.com. While I do my best to quickly respond to email, please forgive me if a day or two passes by before you hear back from me. Sometimes there aren’t enough hours in the day or enough of me to go around to be able to get everything done in one day.
